Four angels watch from heaven as the crucifixion takes place. They want to rescue Jesus from this torture, but are ordered by their captain, Michael, not to interfere.
When the angels question the wisdom of this order, Michael encourages them to think through other significant moments in heavenly history, ranging from Lucifer's rebellion to the birth of Christ.
